Matthew Anderson (born April 18, 1987 in Buffalo ) is an American volleyball player .

Career

Anderson got into volleyball at West Seneca West High School. From 2006 to 2008 he played on the Pennsylvania State University team that won the 2008 NCAA championship. In the same year, the outside attacker made his debut for the US national team . He moved to South Korea to the Hyundai Skywalkers . In 2010 he came to the Italian league to Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia . In 2011 he finished second with the USA at the NORCECA championship . He was then committed by Pallavolo Modena . In 2012 he was in the squad for the Olympic Games in London . Then he moved to the Russian master VK Zenit-Kazan . In 2019 he returned to Pallavolo Modena.

In 2015 he was voted Most Valuable Player of the World Cup and in 2019 Most Valuable Player of the Nations League .
