Matthew Adrian Marshall Carrington, Baron Carrington of Fulham (* 19th October 1947 ) is a British politician of the Conservative Party . From 1987 to 1997 he was a Member of the House of Commons for the constituency of Fulham ( London ). In September 2013 he was promoted to life peer .

Life

Carrington studied at Imperial College London from 1966 to 1969 . During this time he was chairman of the Conservative Society of the Imperial College Conservative Society . He then became Chairman of the Outdoor Advertising Association and Chief Executive Officer of the Retail Motor Industry Federation .

On September 11, 2013, he was promoted to Life Peer as Baron Carrington of Fulham , of Fulham in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham , and has been a member of the House of Lords ever since .
