Matthew Di Leo

Matthew Di Leo (born March 2, 1995 in Innisfil , Ontario ) is a Canadian racing driver .

Career

Di Leo began his motorsport career in karting , where he was active until 2014. In 2011 he switched to formula racing and competed for Brian Stewart Racing in the US F2000 National Championship . First he was third in the winter series with two third places. He finished the subsequent main series with a third place as the best result in fifth place. In addition, he took part in two races of the ontarian Formula Ford . In 2012 Di Leo founded his own racing team, MDL Racing , for which he was active as a pilot. He stayed in the US F2000 National Championship. First he reached ninth place in the winter series. In the main series he was twice third and second and improved in the championship to fourth place.

2013 Di Leo started the year in the winter series of the US F2000 Nation Championship, in which he finished eighth in the drivers' championship. Later in the year Di Leo made his debut in the third race of the season in the Indy Lights . Starting for his own racing team, he finished the race in fifth place. In the further course of the season he was used in another four races. In the overall standings Di Leo finished ninth at the end of the season. In 2014 Di Leo took part in another Indy Lights race with his racing team.
