Matthew Christian Meredith (born July 7, 2000 in Renton (Washington) ) is a German - American basketball player . He is in the squad of the Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt .
career
Meredith was born in Renton , Washington State . In Nuremberg he played in youth and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA in the 2014/15 season . In the 2016/17 season he developed into a top performer in the first regional league with the cooperation club of the Nürnberg Falcon BC , the gymnastics club Herzogenaurach, and recorded around nine and a half minutes of playing time per game in the ProA. In the 2018/19 game year he played 29 ProA games and scored an average of 2.5 points per game. Meredith achieved promotion to the basketball league as runner-up with Nuremberg this season . However, Nuremberg was denied the Bundesliga license, so he stayed with the team in the second division. In summer 2020 he was signed by Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt .
National team
In summer 2016 Meredith took part in the European Championship in Poland with the German U16 national team. At the U18 European Championship in 2018 he achieved an average of 6.9 points per game and reached sixth place with the German team at the tournament in Latvia .
