Matthew Tobin Anderson (born November 4, 1968 in Stow , Massachusetts ) is an American author of picture books for children and novels for young adults.

Life

Anderson went to Harvard University , University of Cambridge and Syracuse University . Before his novel Thirsty was published, he worked at Candlewick Press . Anderson was a teacher at Vermont College in Montpelier , Vermont and a music reviewer for The Improper Bostonian .

Among his children's books are u. a. Handel Who Knew What He Liked , Strange Mr. Satie , The Serpent Came to Gloucester and Me, All Alone, at the End of the World . He also wrote novels for young people, e.g. B. Thirsty , Burger Wuss , Feed , The Game of Sunken Places and Octavian Nothing . For readers from the intermediate level there have been works such as B. Whales on Stilts: MT Anderson's Thrilling Tales and the follow-up novel The Clue of the Linoleum Lederhosen .

Anderson is a member of the National Children's Book and Literacy Alliance , a national non-profit organization for education, literature and libraries.

Anderson lives in Cambridge , Massachusetts .
