Matthias Gillner

Matthias Gillner (* 1962 ) is a German Catholic theologian and social ethicist .

Life

Gillner studied Catholic theology, philosophy and religious education in Frankfurt am Main, Munich and Petrópolis. He earned an MA from the Munich School of Philosophy (1988) and a diploma from the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen (1990). From 1990 to 1995 he was a research assistant at the chair for Catholic social ethics at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg . In 1996 he was in Catholic theology Dr. theol. PhD.

Afterwards he was a research assistant at the Institute for Theology and Peace in Hamburg. Since 1999 he has been a lecturer in Catholic social ethics in the human and social sciences department of the Bundeswehr leadership academy in Hamburg.

Gillner is married and has four children.
