Matthias Goeken (* 2. December 1964 in Paderborn ) is a German politician of the CDU . He has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2017 .

Life

Goeken ended his school career in 1982 with the technical college entrance qualification and then completed an apprenticeship as a baker , which he completed in 1984 with the journeyman's examination. He then worked in bakeries and at the same time attended a bakery school, where he passed the master craftsman's examination in 1987. From 1987 he worked as a master baker and in 1993 independently took over the management of the family business, a bakery based in Bad Driburg . At the turn of the year 2017/18 he handed over the management of the company to his son.

Goeken has been a member of the CDU since 1983. He has been deputy chairman of the CDU district association Höxter since 2013 and a member of the state board of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia since 2016 . From 1994 to 1997 he was a member of the Paderborn District Council and has been a member of the Höxter District Council since 2009. In the state elections in May 2017 , he was elected as a direct candidate in constituency 102 (Höxter) in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He won the direct mandate with 50.8% of the first votes . In the state parliament he is a member of the transport committee and the committee for economy, energy and regional planning.

Matthias Goeken is married for a second time and has three children from his first marriage.
