Matthias Kohl
Matthias Kohl (born August 14, 1973 in Vilseck , Bavaria ) is a German mathematician and statistician who mainly deals with robust statistics .
Life
Kohl studied mathematics at the University of Bayreuth , where he received his doctorate in 2005 under Helmut Rieder with his thesis Numerical Contributions to the Asymptotic Theory of Robustness .
First he worked at the University of Jena as a biostatistician. In Jena he dealt with the analysis of high-dimensional biological data, the development and validation of microarray-based prediction models and the study design. In 2011 he became a professor at Furtwangen University , where he has since taught in the field of biostatistics and researches statistical methods for biomarker development and validation as well as molecular diagnostics.
