Matthias Krell

Matthias Krell (born October 26, 1959 in Kirchen (Sieg) ) is a German politician (SPD) and from 2006 to 2011 a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Education, work and family

After obtaining the secondary school leaving certificate, Krell trained as a nurse from 1978 to 1981 . Then he did his community service . From 1982 to 1986 he finally worked in the profession he had learned before he began to catch up on his Abitur at an evening high school in 1987. He then studied German and history from 1990 to 1995 for the teaching post in secondary levels I and II at the University of Siegen . After passing the first state examination , Krell worked as a research assistant from 1996 to 1999 and obtained his doctorate . Until 2006, Krell was then a lecturer at the University of Siegen.

Krell is married and has two children.

politics

Krell has been a member of the SPD since 1991. In 1999 he was elected to both the Altenkirchen district council (Westerwald) and the Betzdorf city council. From 2005 to September 2010 he was chairman of the SPD district association Altenkirchen. From May 18, 2006, Krell was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for one electoral term, where he was a member of the committee for science, further education, research and culture as well as the committee for equality and the advancement of women.
