Matthias Munggenast

Matthias Munggenast (born February 12, 1729 in St. Pölten ; † April 22, 1798 ibid) was an Austrian baroque master builder.

Life

Matthias Munggenast was born as the second son of Joseph Munggenast and took over the family business after the death of his brother Franz Munggenast in 1748. Artistically he did not come close to his father and brother, got into financial difficulties in the late 1760s and died completely impoverished at the age of 70.
