Matthias Rexroth

Matthias Rexroth (born January 7, 1970 in Nuremberg ) is a German countertenor , singing teacher and conductor .

Life

Rexroth grew up in Coburg , completed his music studies as an oboist , and initially worked as an instrumental musician. He only had his countertenor voice trained afterwards, and he describes himself as an "altus".

Rexroth studied at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe , the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis , and privately with Marilyn Horne . In 1999 he received a scholarship from the state of Baden-Württemberg .

Rexroth has been performing operas and concerts since 2000. He also works as a singing teacher and has conducted the Georgian Chamber Orchestra and the Ensemble del 'Arte in Ingolstadt .
