Matthias Schönherr

Matthias Schönherr (born February 23, 1957 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German industrial designer and has been a professor of display technology at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal since 2001 .

Career

Schönherr attended the Polytechnische Oberschule in Chemnitz from 1963 to 1973 and graduated from it with the secondary school leaving certificate. From 1973 to 1975 he completed an apprenticeship as a machine tool setter. Then he did his basic military service with the NVA . Between 1977 and 1978 he attended the engineering college in Zwickau to obtain the university entrance qualification . From 1979 to 1984 he studied at the University of Industrial Design in Halle, Burg Giebichenstein . From 1987 to 1989 Schönherr worked as a freelance designer in Halle an der Saale . In May 1989 he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany and in the same year started working as a designer at Arno Design GmbH in Wolfschlugen . He held this job until 1993. From 1994 he was an assistant in the product design course at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. Between 1998 and 2000 he studied marketing . In 2000 and 2001 he was employed as an interior designer in the styling department of "Dr. Ing.hc F. Porsche AG " in Weissach.
