The Maudheimvidda is an ice-covered plateau in the far west of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land , which extends from latitude 20 ° west to Jutulstraumen at latitude 0 ° 30 'west.
It was named by participants in the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) based on the base camp of the research trip called Maudheim ( 71 ° 3 ′ S , 10 ° 56 ′ W ) on the Quar Ice Shelf .
