The Quar Ice Shelf is an ice shelf on the Princess Martha Coast of Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It lies between Cape Norvegia and the Søråsen mountain range .

Participants in the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952), whose base camp Maudheim ( 71 ° 3 ′  S , 10 ° 56 ′  W ) was on the ice shelf, carried out a geodetic survey of the area. It is named after Leslie Arthur Quar (1923–1951), radio mechanic and electrician on the expedition, who drowned on February 24, 1951 when the Weasel tracked vehicle he was driving crashed over the edge of the ice shelf and sank into the sea.
