Mule time
The mule season is the time between the Abitur and the start of studies . In his childhood memories, Adolf Kussmaul describes the mule season as follows:
“The language of the student, which is rich in images, calls the youths who are no longer pupils and not yet academic citizens mules. They no longer hang their heads in the pen of the grammar school as gray animals and are now released and have risen to the higher level of mulus. After the blissful days of childhood, when there is still no school cloud in the sky, the golden mule time in life is the most beautiful. "
The term was common until the 19th century and is now out of date.
