Weingärtner Stromberg-Zabergäu
The tenants Stromberg-Zabergäu eG is a wine cooperative in the wine-growing region Württemberg . The administrative headquarters are in Brackenheim . Weingärtner Stromberg-Zabergäu eG was created in 2012 from the merger of the two cooperatives Weingärtner Brackenheim eG and Stromberkeller Bönnigheim eG. 1050 winegrowers cultivate 750 hectares of Württemberg vineyards around the major locations Stromberg and Heuchelberg. Today the cooperative is the third largest winegrowers' cooperative in Württemberg.
history
The first cooperative in the region was founded in 1905 in Haberschlacht. The initiator was the then pastor Eduard Wörner, who brought the Haberschlacht wine-growers together. In 1950 they joined the Haberschlacht winegrowers to the larger cooperative, the Brackenheim wine growers. The wineries from Neipperg, Botenheim and Meimsheim joined the large Brackenheim winery through further mergers.
In the 1930s, the later Federal President Theodor Heuss sold the house where he was born to the winemakers who were able to develop and store wine in barrels for the first time in the so-called "Meeh'schen Haus".
