Mauno Peltonen is a former Finnish biathlete .
Mauno Peltonen belonged to the group of Finnish biathletes who were able to achieve isolated successes between the successful first successful generation in the first half of the 1960s and the second successful generation in the middle and second half of the 1970s without establishing themselves permanently among the world's best . He achieved his greatest success at the 1969 Biathlon World Championships in Zakopane . There he won the bronze medal together with Kalevi Vähäkylä , Mauri Röppänen and Esko Marttinen behind the representations from the Soviet Union and Norway.
