Mauranipur is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
The city is part of the Jhansi District . Mauranipur has the status of a Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 61,449 inhabitants, of whom 32,221 were men and 29,228 women. The literacy rate in 2011 was 76.7%.
The city is considered a center of textile production and was known in ancient times as Madhupuri.
