Maurice Roy (art historian)
Maurice Roy (born August 28, 1856 in Paris ; † June 24, 1932 ibid) was a French historian, art historian and Romanist .
life and work
Roy completed his habilitation in 1883 with two papers on French administrative and financial history. He was a senior official in the French Court of Auditors from 1893 to 1926 , but remained in research. As a specialist in the Renaissance , he emerged with historical and art-historical works as well as the publication of the poetic works of Christine de Pizan . From 1929 until his death he was a member of the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres .
