Life
Football career
Mauricio Baldivieso is the son of long-time national player and team coach Julio César Baldivieso . On July 19, 2009, at the age of 12 years and 362 days, he was substituted on by his father in the 81st-minute match between Aurora Cochabamba and La Paz FC . “A historic moment”, the newspaper “ La Prensa ” cheered the next morning. Significant personnel problems in the Auroro squad made it possible for the young striker to play in the last game of the current championship. Baldivieso was injured in the right ankle by a rough foul by his opponent Henry Alaca just five minutes after his substitution, but was able to continue the game after medical treatment without being able to avert the 0-1 defeat of his club. Four days after the game (one day after Mauricio's 13th birthday), Aurora sacked Julio César as coach. In February 2012 he moved to Real Potosi , where his father was appointed coach at the end of the month.
Private
Mauricio's father Julio César Baldivieso is one of Bolivia's football idols and played for his country in the 1994 World Cup, which was eliminated in the US in the preliminary round, including after a 1-0 defeat by Germany.
