Mauricio Ortega Ramírez (born October 22, 1980 in Salgar ) is a Colombian racing cyclist .

Career

In 2002, Mauricio Ortega was the Pan-American champion in the U23 class individual time trial . In 2003 he won a stage of the Vuelta a Guatemala . He received his first contract with an international cycling team in 2006 with the Colombian Continental Team Atom . He was initially successful in South American races on national cycling calendars, including the overall ratings of smaller stage races and four stages of the Clasico RCN from 2006 to 2011 . In 2010 he won a stage of the Vuelta al Valle del Cauca and was able to win the overall standings. In 2013 he won a stage of the Vuelta a Colombia , in which in 2016 he won the overall classification, the mountain classification and two stages. He also won the mountain classification of the Tour of Qinghai Lake in 2016 .
