Mauritius piderite
Mauritius Piderit (also: Moritz Piderit ; * 1497 in Lemgo ; † 1576 ibid) was a Lutheran theologian .
He was rector of the Nicolaischule in Lemgo and from 1532 pastor of the Nicolaikirche there . He is considered to be one of the most important supporters of the Lutheran Reformation in Lemgo and in the county of Lippe . Among other things, Piderit wrote several chronicle-like reports about his hometown and its surroundings, which are important sources for regional, town and church history.
