Maurizius Staerkle Drux

Maurizius Staerkle Drux (also Staerkle-Drux; born June 30, 1988 in Cologne ) is a Swiss documentary filmmaker and sound designer .

Career

Staerkle Drux was born in Cologne as the son of cabaret artist Michaela Maria Drux and pantomime Christoph Staerkle and grew up in Zurich . From 2008 to 2012 he studied film directing at the Zurich University of the Arts , which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in film in 2012 .

From 2009 he worked a. a. as concept developer and sound engineer; since graduating from college as a director and sound designer. In 2013 he founded his company MAXDRUX & Co GmbH , based in Zurich, and runs a recording studio.

His documentary Die Böhms - Architektur einer Familie from 2014, for which he accompanied the architect Gottfried Böhm and his family with the camera for two years, won the Goethe Institute's documentary film award in 2014 at the Leipzig International Film Festival . He was also awarded several international festivals, a. a. at the Munich International Documentary Film Festival with the first prize for the best young talent, at the Bolzano Film Festival with the main prize of the festival, with the Prix du Jury at the Festival International du Film sur l'Art (FIFA) and with a special mention at the Max Ophüls Prize film festival excellent. The film is considered to be one of the most popular documentaries in German cinema in 2015.
