The Mauser Packaging Solutions , based in Oak Brook, Illinois is an international manufacturer of industrial packaging materials consisting since 2018 the traditional company Mauser Group (with operational headquarters in Bruehl near Cologne), National Container Group ( "NCG"), Bway and Industrial Container Services ("ICS"). The group works with companies around the world to serve the entire packaging lifecycle from design, manufacture and delivery.
history
The German company Mauser, one of the original companies of the group, was founded in 1896 by the company's founder Alfons Mauser in Schramberg and moved to Cologne-Ehrenfeld at No. 155 Venloer Strasse in 1898. There it manufactured sheet steel goods such as steel furniture, steel packaging and tools, many of which like the famous "Mauser barrels" received patents. During the company's history, Mauser has developed many product innovations for the packaging market, including the first metal drum on the market and the first usable plastic lid drum. The company moved to Brühl in 1922 .
After several takeovers by private equity firms in the 1990s, Mauser was acquired by the private equity investor One Equity Partners in 2003 ; Mauser was sold to Dubai International Capital (DIC), a sovereign wealth fund, in 2007 . In 2014 the company was taken over by the US fund CDR. In 2016 the British company Daniels Healthcare was taken over.
In January 2017 it was announced that the Mauser Group was planning an IPO. Shortly thereafter, Mauser was sold to Stone Canyon Industries (SCI) for $ 2.3 billion; SCI is a global industrial holding company based in Los Angeles. The company has a focus on acquiring leading companies with strong management teams. a. Shareholder in BWAY, a leading provider of a comprehensive portfolio of rigid packaging in North America.
Products
The Mauser Group develops, produces and sells packaging solutions such as plastic packaging (drums and canisters), fiber drums, steel drums and intermediate bulk containers (IBC) worldwide . The company's products are used in the chemical, agrochemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, among others.
Through its subsidiary 'National Container Group' (NCG), Mauser offers a repair service and the return and reuse of completely emptied industrial packaging at its own locations . Mauser thus covers the entire packaging cycle.
