The station was originally broadcast on 1400 kHz. In 1966 the frequency was changed to 1360 kHz. In 2002, CKBC and other broadcasting stations were taken over by Telemedia Radio by Astral Media . On November 14, 2003 the approval was given for the conversion from AM (medium wave) to FM (ultra short wave) with an output of 33.5 kW.
