Max Apple (born October 22, 1941 in Grand Rapids , Michigan ) is an American writer and screenwriter .

Life

Max Apple received his Bachelor of Arts (1963) and Ph.D. (1970) at the University of Michigan . For 29 years he taught Creative Writing at Rice University in Houston , Texas .

In addition to novels and short stories, Apple also wrote scripts, for example for the film The Air Up There .
