Max Augustin

Max Augustin (born October 11, 1886 in Mehrnbach , Upper Austria; † January 2, 1943 in Grieskirchen ) was a teacher and politician .

Augustin was born the son of a married couple and went to grammar school in Ried im Innkreis for four years after primary school . Then he switched to the state teacher training institute in Linz and trained as a teacher. As a result, Augustin was first employed at elementary schools in Kobernaußen , Eberschwang and Grieskirchen, and later he worked at the community school in Grieskirchen. He was also active part-time in adult education. In 1934 he rose to become principal school director in Grieskirchen. His marriage in 1917 has three children. In 1938 he was removed from the school administration and arrested, and only in 1941 was he allowed to teach again. Augustin died in 1943 after an embolism as a result of an operation in the Grieskirchen hospital.

Max Augustin worked for the Christian Social Party in the local council in Grieskirchen, and between 1918 and 1919 he was also a member of the provisional state assembly .
