Max Dehnert
Max Dehnert (born February 11, 1893 in Freiberg , † September 22, 1972 in Leipzig ) was a German composer , writer and university professor .
Life
After studying music with Joseph Gustav Mraczek , he worked as a music teacher and teacher in Freiberg, but moved to Leipzig in 1936. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists , he became a member of the NSDAP on May 1, 1933 ( party number 2,415,415).
From 1948 Dehnert taught at the Music Academy in Leipzig , where he was appointed professor for theory and school music in 1953. In 1961 he retired.
His estate, which is kept in the Leipzig City Library , consists of 163 volumes with manuscripts of scientific and fictional works, poems and numerous music autographs.
