Max Klett

Max Klett (* 1893 ; † March 11, 1955 in Böblingen ) was a German entrepreneur and local politician .

Life

Origin and private life

Max Klett was born in 1893 as one of six children of Anna Klett. He did a commercial apprenticeship at the Lenz company.

Entrepreneur

In 1905 Anna Klett opened a grocery store in Böblingen , which her son Max supported by selling the goods in the villages. In 1915 Max Klett took over the management of the company, opened a first branch in 1925 and integrated a health food store from 1928 . After the entrepreneur's death in 1955, his widow Else Klett took over the management of the company, soon supported by her daughter Helga and her son-in-law Josef Nowak.

Local politician in Böblingen

As one of the former chairmen of the local Social Democrats, Max Klett was classified as a passive resistance from 1933 to 1937. In 1936 he and his comrades were denounced by the Sturmabteilung . From 1948 to the end of 1953 due to health problems, Max Klett was a member of the city council of Böblingen. Max Klett was also a member of the local school council.
