Max Langer
Max Langer (born July 12, 1897 in Spitzkunnersdorf , † May 3, 1985 in Niederoderwitz ) was a German painter .
Life
From 1917 to 1921 Max Langer studied at the Art Academy in Dresden . There followed a period of wandering through Upper Bavaria before he returned to his homeland. In 1928 he married and started a family. The local painter Max Langer found great recognition, especially for his typical reverse glass painting and his cycle "An Oberlausitzer Weberleben". 1981 Awarded the Upper Lusatia Art Prize. Also known are “Der Labensboam” and the “Lausitzer Peep box”. His topics always dealt with the social conditions in his Upper Lusatian homeland and with the traditional folk culture of the region.
