Max Wischer (born November 26, 1873 in Berlin ; † January 11, 1950 ) was a German small animal breeder, association official and specialist book author.

Life

Max Wischer attended grammar school and was trained as a teacher in Kyritz , and in 1891 he passed the teacher examination. After his training he worked as a teacher at the Jahn Realprogymnasium in Berlin-Rummelsburg . From around 1912 Wischer held various positions in the organizations of pedigree rabbit breeders. From 1914 he was involved in the establishment of the state fur recycling as part of the war economy of the First World War , 1915–1918 he was drafted for military service. After the First World War he was again active in various positions for the associations of pedigree rabbit breeders, such as a representative at the Chamber of Agriculture and the German Agricultural Society . From 1921 he worked as a judge for pedigree rabbits. From 1924 to 1933 he was managing director of the Reich Association of German Rabbit Breeders . At the 1st International Rabbit Breeder Congress in Leipzig in 1930 , Wischer was one of the main managing directors together with Hans Nachtsheim . Max Wischer was active as a specialist author and wrote books on rabbit breeding, in particular on breeding Angora rabbits , for the Leipzig publishing house Dr. F. Poppe worked on Wischer as a "lecture hall advisor" from reader inquiries in the magazine "The Rabbit Breeder". Max Wischer, who lost his entire specialist library in World War II, died on January 11 of an operation.
