Maximilian "Max" Wissel (born November 24, 1989 in Alzenau ) is a German automobile racing driver .

Career

After Wissel his motorsport career in 1996 in karting had begun, he moved to the 2,006 -seater racing in the German Formula BMW to GU-Racing International . With a podium finish, he finished eleventh overall at the end of the season. In 2007 Wissel stayed in the German Formula BMW and contested his second season in this racing series. With one win he finished sixth in the overall standings this season. In 2008 he started the season in the Northern European Formula Renault . In August he switched to the first season of the Superleague Formula and started for the FC Basel team , which was looked after by GU-Racing International. At the end of the season he finished 15th overall. In 2009 , Wissel stayed with the FC Basel team in the Superleague Formula and improved to third place in the overall standings thanks to a victory. He left Giorgio Pantano , the 2008 GP2 champion, behind. In 2010 the German started again in the Superleague Formula and played his third season for FC Basel. He won a race and managed to defend third place overall for FC Basel.
