Matthäus Edler von Rosthorn (born August 7, 1782 in Vienna , † May 3, 1855 in Vienna) was an Austrian industrialist from the family of the noble von Rosthorn .

Matthäus von Rosthorn, the third son of the industrialist Matthäus of the same name and his third wife Elisabeth See, worked in his father's industrial company at an early stage. After his half-brother Thomas died in 1809, he joined the company in full. Together with his two other brothers August and Franz , he moved the metal works from Fahrafeld in Triestingtal to Oed in the neighboring Piestingtal in 1816 .

He was one of its directors from the founding of the Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn in 1836 until his death. When his brother August died in 1843, he was in charge of the plant in Oed.

As a member of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce , he made great contributions.

Matthäus von Rosthorn was married twice and had six children.
