Pottenstein is a market town with 2930 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Lower Austria in the Baden district . Pottenstein was also the seat of a district court with its own district.
geography
The place is in the Triestingtal in the Vienna Woods and borders on Berndorf and Weissenbach an der Triesting .
Pottenstein is located in the industrial district and was itself dominated socially and economically for many years by the textile factory located here . The industrial monument in the western part of the market town still dominates the appearance of the village today (see: Sights ).

traffic
- Road: The main traffic artery is Hainfelder Straße B18. In addition, a road leads over the neck into the neighboring Piestingtal .
- Train: In Pottenstein there is a train station of the Leobersdorfer Bahn .
- Sports: The “Triestingtal-Weg” border hiking trail, several mountain bike trails and, in winter, if there is enough snow, even a cross-country ski trail lead through Pottenstein and Fahrafeld.
