Max von Vequel-Westernach

Max von Vequel-Westernach (* around 1929 in Gauting ; † November 26, 2006 in Herrsching am Ammersee ) was a German engineer and technical director of the Frankfurt Opera .

Max von Vequel worked from 1951 to 1954 as a production engineer at the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt . He then worked as Technical Director in Basel. From 1956 he was in charge of the renovation of the double theater in Frankfurt am Main and in 1971 became technical director of the opera. He stayed in charge until 1989.

He created the sets for Verdi's Macbeth , directed by Hans Neuenfels and Berlioz's Die Trojans , staged by Ruth Berghaus .

Max von Vequel died at the age of 77 not far from where he was born and lived in Gauting in the hospital in Herrsching am Ammersee.
