history

The cultural initiative has been a registered association since 1994 . Previously, volunteers had held concerts and exhibitions for several years without an organized structure. A former carpenter's workshop has been converted into a concert room with a stage. In the beginning there were around 15 events per year.

2001 began the concert series Jazz Night with the jazz guitarist Thomas Langer . After a change in the association's board in 2005, the number of events rose to 60 per year. In 2010 the event room had to be given up due to termination by the landlord. After two years without a fixed stage and with a reduced range of programs, the cultural initiative moved into the basement of the residential and commercial building at Eisenbahnstrasse 13 in autumn 2012.

program

Every year 65 to 75 events take place, of which usually more than 50 concerts with national and international artists. The musical spectrum includes jazz , funk , soul , blues , folk , singer-songwriter / songwriter , pop , electronic and experimental music. The program also includes theater, magic, cabaret and comedy. There are also workshops and, since 2015, a monthly pub quiz .

Renowned jazz musicians perform in changing combinations in the monthly concert series Jazz Night .

The cultural initiative publishes excerpts from numerous concerts on its own channel on the YouTube video portal .
