Maximilian Neulinger

Maximilian Neulinger OSB (born May 2, 1967 in Wels , Upper Austria ) is a Roman Catholic religious and 59th abbot of the Lambach Benedictine monastery .

Life

Neulinger learned the trade of grain miller , in which he also worked. After his graduation in building secondary school in Lambach he did his military service in 1990 and entered the Congregation of Benedictine in Lambach in. In 1991 he made his temporary profession and in 1994 he made his perpetual profession. He studied Catholic theology and religious education . In 1996 he was ordained a priest .

After working as a religion teacher, he was prior of the Lambach Abbey, founded in 1056, and chaplain in the Lambach Abbey.

On May 7, 2008 he was elected 59th abbot of the Lambach Benedictine Abbey in Upper Austria; The inauguration took place on 2 June 2008. The Abtsbenediktion Maximilian Neulinger took place on June 8 in the Collegiate Church Lambach.

Since 2009 he has also been prior of the Salzkammergut Commandery of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
