Mayumi Yokoyama

Mayumi Yokoyama ( Japanese 横山 真 由 美 Yokoyama Mayumi ; * December 6, 19xx in Nagano Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist whose works, mostly love stories, are aimed at young girls and belong to the Shōjo genre.

For her short story Uwasa Tsukai , she won the 44th Shogakukan Prize for Young Talent in 1999 . After she was published in Betsucomi magazine, further short mangas from her pen followed for this magazine, for which she has mainly worked since then. Some of these early works were collected in 2002 in the volume Chika Chika Banana (チ キ チ キ バ ナ ナ), her first book publication.

Yokoyama's first lengthy comic was Otoko no Kozukan . This was to be read from 2002 to 2003 in the Betsucomi and was later published as an anthology by Shogakukan. Shiritsu , on which she worked from 2003 to 2004, comprises about 500 pages in three anthologies and is about a young person who is thrown from her school because of her unconventional behavior and who does not go down well at her new school either. Since 2004 the author has been working on her longest work, Galism , with over 900 pages in five anthologies , with three sisters as protagonists.
