Mazamitla is a town in the Mexican state of Jalisco and is known as Pueblo Mágico for its pine forests and wood handicrafts. Mazamitla is located at 2234 meters in the forests of Mexico and means something like "place where you hunt deer with a bow and arrow". The town, the largest town in the municipality of the same name and its administrative seat, has 7865 inhabitants (2010 census).
Mazamitla is the birthplace of Bishop Vicente Castellanos y Núñez .
