The Mbarara University of Science and Technology of Science and Technology (Mbarara University of Science and Technology or MUST ) is a university in the city of Mbarara in the district of Mbarara in Uganda .

history

The university was founded by law in October 1989 as the second public university in Uganda after Makerere University . At first it consisted of only one medical faculty and was expanded in 1995 and 1998 to include a natural science faculty and a faculty for development studies. In addition, an Institute of Tropical Forest Conservation is operated in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park . The newest institute is the Institute for Computer Science.

The MUST is led by a Vice Chancellor assisted by a Deputy Vice Chancellor; the chancellor has representative and symbolic tasks. It is divided into five faculties :
