McHenry Mice Kanjonokere Venaani , mostly just McHenry Venaani (born September 8, 1977 in Windhoek , South West Africa ) is a Namibian politician and party president of the opposition Popular Democratic Movement (formerly DTA of Namibia ).

education

Venaani is currently studying part-time at the University of Wolverhampton ( United Kingdom ). Since 2002 he has a Diploma in International Commercial Law from Holborn College . At the same college he made a diploma in constitutional law in 1999. Two years earlier he completed a diploma course in corporate law at Classic College .

Career

Venaani has been a member of the Namibian National Assembly since June 10, 2003 and was its youngest member.

Venaani competed in the 2005 election for the DTA party chairmanship, but lost to Katuutire Kaura . Eight years later, at the party conference on September 7, 2013, he prevailed against the party president Kaura, who had been in office since 1998, and was elected the new party president.

In the presidential election in Namibia 2014 , Venaani ran for the first time as a presidential candidate and achieved the second-best result with just under 5 percent. In the 2019 election , he came third with 5.3 percent.
