Mechmed Fikretow

Mechmed Fikretow (born November 18, 1986 ) is a Bulgarian weightlifter . He belongs to the Turkish minority in Bulgaria .

Career

He won the bronze medal in the class up to 69 kg at the 2005 European Championships and came sixth at the 2005 World Championships. In 2006 he was fourth at the EM. At the World Championships in 2006 and 2007, he ended up in seventh place. At the European Championships in 2008 he again won bronze. Shortly before the 2008 Olympic Games, he was tested positive for metandienone in a doping control and banned for four years.
