Mechthild Roth

Mechthild Roth (born May 7, 1956 in Ravensburg ) is a German biologist and professor of forest zoology at the Technical University of Dresden .

Life

Roth studied biology and chemistry at Ulm University from 1975 to 1980 . She received her doctorate in 1984 on the subject of "The coleopterenosis in the spruce forest ecosystem, ecological and element-analytical studies". She then worked as a research assistant until 1988 within the scope of various third-party funded projects (European Research Center for Air Pollution Control, Nuclear Research Center Karlsruhe) on the structure and function of invertebrate zenoses in forests and the flow of elements in forest ecosystems, taking into account the invertebrate food chains. From 1988 to 1994 Roth worked as a scientific assistant at the chair for ecology and morphology of animals at the University of Ulm with a focus on soil fauna, biomonitoring and ecotoxicology . In 1991, she completed her habilitation in the field of zoology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Ulm University. In 1994 she was appointed to a professorship for forest zoology at the Technical University of Dresden . Between 1999 and 2006 she was also the head of the German-Ukrainian project DNISTER .
