Where the green meadows shine

Where the green meadows shine far and wide
where the ears of wheat weighed at harvest time
where the pine forests stand on the beach of the Baltic Sea
: there is my home Mecklenburg Land  :
Where the farmhouse stands in a wide field
where the village chapel faithfully strikes the hour
where the forester's hut stands at the edge of the forest
: there is my home Mecklenburg Land  :
Where the farmer can manage the long day
where the forester hunts in the dark woods
where the fisherman fishes with his strong hand
: there is my home Mecklenburg Land  :
Where the hammer blows on the slipway,
where the proud ships sail,
where the mother tongue still applies in the whole country,
: there is my home Mecklenburg Land  :
This homeland peace is so beautiful
Nowhere in the world can there be anything more beautiful
from the pine forests to the Baltic Sea beach
: we love our home region of Mecklenburg  :

In the Low German chorus variant, “Da ist Meine Heimat” is simply replaced by “Dor is miene Heimat”.
