Medal for services to art (Oldenburg)

The medal for services to art was donated in gold and silver by Grand Duke Nikolaus Friedrich Peter von Oldenburg on November 15, 1878 and could be awarded to everyone for excellent service in the field of art .

The front of the round medal shows the image of the reigning Grand Duke . On the reverse, the inscription FOR MERIT FOR THE ART , which is enclosed by a star ribbon.

The ribbon is dark blue with a vermilion central stripe and the award was worn on the left side of the chest.
