Medal in memory of Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August

The medal in memory of Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August was donated in 1853 by Grand Duke Nikolaus Friedrich Peter von Oldenburg and could be awarded in gold or bronze to long-time servants of the deceased Grand Duke .

The medal was created jointly by the medalists Rudolph Kölbel and Johann Karl Fischer . On the front it shows the portrait of the deceased Grand Duke, with PAUL FRIEDR all around . AUGUST GRAND DUKE V OLDENBURG . The reverse bears the inscription THE GRATEFUL SON THE FAITHFUL SERVANT OF HIS BELOVED FATHER 1853 .

The gold medal was only awarded once. It bears the name of the loanee on the edge. There are also bronze medals without an inscription on the reverse.

The award was worn on a dark blue ribbon with two ponceau red stripes on the left side of the chest.
