Johann Karl Fischer (born July 14, 1802 in Berlin ; † March 25, 1865 there ) was a medalist .

Life

Johann Karl Fischer, a brother of the sculptor Ferdinand August Fischer , was initially destined to be a gold worker, then trained as an engraver and worked in Gottfried Bernhard Loos ' medal institute from 1823 , then at the court jeweler Wagner. The reformer of the Prussian art industry, Christian Peter Wilhelm Beuth , gave him more extensive work and appointed him to the trade institute. In addition to the medals, he worked stamps for the royal coin and cut precious stones and portraits in ivory. His estate is in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin .
