The laurel branches are tied together with a bow at their lower intersection. Their color is red on the left and the national colors of Romania on the right. The number 25 can be read above it . This symbolism is enclosed by the lower semicircular inscription: DE LA PROCLAMAREA REPUBLICII . The lapel of the medal shows the waving national flag with an oversized coat of arms on a radiant background.

The medal was worn on the left chest of the recipient on a yellow ribbon with a wide red central stripe. This central strip is flanked on both sides by two narrow red and one blue each.
