The Medalha Solidariedade de Timor-Leste ( German  Solidarity Medal East Timor ) is a decoration of East Timor .

The Medalha Solidariedade de Timor-Leste is awarded to members of the police and the military (domestic and foreign) who have completed missions under the mandate of the United Nations after May 1, 2006 and during the INTERFET operation between September 20, 1999 and on February 28, 2000 on security operations in East Timor .

Police officers, soldiers or civilians who have served in East Timor for at least 180 days without interruption are automatically honored. In addition, lists are made of people who have served in East Timor for at least 90 or 120 days. The President can decide on an award for these persons . In addition, the President can, in exceptional cases, award awards to people who have not met the requirements. Details on the award will be determined by the presidential decree.

Appearance

The silver medal has a diameter of 38 mm. The front shows the map of East Timor and the words "Timor-Leste" and "Solidaridade". On the back is the coat of arms of East Timor . The ribbon uses the colors of the national flag of East Timor .

Around 7,000 members of the Australian military alone were awarded the medal. More than 1,100 soldiers and over 170 police officers have been honored from New Zealand . Among those honored from East Timor are the police officers Pedro Belo and Natércia Martins .
