The Munich Media Days are an annual conference of the communications industry with an associated trade fair. In 2016 around 6,000 participants from Germany and abroad took part in the congress, trade fair and events related to the media days.

history

The Munich Media Days were founded in 1987 under Wolf-Dieter Ring and Edmund Stoiber (at that time both in the State Chancellery ) on behalf of the Bavarian state government . The event was intended to bring together private radio and television providers, newspaper and magazine publishers and the public broadcasters in a joint discussion. The topics covered range from media policy aspects to advertising, marketing and questions of program quality to the protection of minors. Medientage München GmbH has been organizing the congress of the same name since 1999. Stefan Sutor (chairman) and Nikolaus Lörz have been the managing directors since 2017. The GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bavarian State Center for New Media (BLM).
